For Rubi, housekeeping was never simply about cleaning houses. It became a way to build a future, support a family and, eventually, create opportunities for others.

Rubi began working in housekeeping when she was just 19 years old and a young mother. After high school, she worked alongside a woman who taught her not only how to professionally clean a home, but also how to handle estimates, quotes and the administrative side of running a service business.

At first, Rubi wasn't convinced housekeeping would become her career.

Ten years later, My Clean has grown into a business with a team of approximately 12 people, and Rubi has turned those early lessons into something much larger. Along the way, the business has helped her earn her bachelor's degree, and she is now working toward her master's.

For Rubi, faith has also played an important role in that journey. She describes her decision to pursue the business as something she prayed about and ultimately felt called to continue.

But perhaps what makes My Clean especially interesting for Centennial residents is its flexibility.

Cleaning That Meets You Where You Are

Many cleaning companies work from a fairly rigid menu: whole house, predetermined package, take it or leave it.

Rubi takes a different approach.

“My Clean” can provide whole-home cleaning, but customers can also request help with only the areas they need.

*Just need the kitchen cleaned? That's an option.

*Bathrooms getting away from you? Call Rubi.

*Need help with a particular room, a deep cleaning, or a more specialized situation? The team can work with customers to determine what makes sense.

That flexibility can be particularly valuable for households trying to balance both their needs and their budgets.

“We like to adjust to people because people's needs are different,” Rubi explained during our conversation.

My Clean primarily specializes in residential housekeeping, serving busy families, pet owners and households that simply need another set of hands. The company also works with real estate professionals on move-in, move-out and pre-staging cleaning, and provides commercial office cleaning as well.

What Does a Typical Cleaning Include?

While every home is different, a standard My Clean visit may include dusting surfaces, blinds and window sills; vacuuming carpets and floors; mopping; emptying trash; cleaning bathrooms, toilets, sinks, showers and tubs; and tackling the kitchen.

And Rubi's definition of cleaning the kitchen goes well beyond a quick countertop wipe.

Her team cleans items such as microwaves, coffee makers and toasters, including removable trays and components where appropriate. Stovetops and sinks receive attention as well. Bed linens can also be changed when fresh sheets are provided and customers let the team know where they are located.

Certain additional services, such as dishes, can also be arranged.

Rubi says most standard cleanings take approximately two to three hours, although the size and needs of the home determine the actual time required.

Trust May Be the Most Important Service of All

There is another part of My Clean that can't be measured with a vacuum cleaner or bottle of cleaning solution: trust.

Rubi is intentional about creating a team culture built around responsibility, cooperation and honesty.

Rather than constantly rotating unfamiliar workers through customers' homes, she works to maintain a consistent team of people she knows and trusts.

That matters.

Inviting someone into your home is personal. Customers aren't simply buying a cleaning service. They are trusting someone with the place where their family lives, rests and gathers.

Rubi understands that distinction.

She describes the My Clean team almost as a family, encouraging employees to support one another while maintaining high standards for their work.

The result is a local business built around a wonderfully simple philosophy: do good work, do the right thing and help people where they need help.

And for Centennial households staring at the dust, the dog hair, the bathroom, the kitchen and that one room we've all quietly decided not to discuss, having someone willing to meet you exactly where you are can be a pretty wonderful thing.

It’s cool seeing a local company put so much effort into hiring good people and keeping the same faces for clients. That’s the kind of thing that builds long-term trust.

I wish more services offered this kind of custom cleaning. I don’t always need my whole house done, so being able to book just a room or two is fantastic.

Story like this gives me hope for small businesses. There’s something special about locals serving locals, and I’d rather hire someone nearby than a big franchise any day.

My Clean sounds like just what I’ve been looking for. My bathrooms are a disaster and I’m way too embarrassed to call the big chains. Might give Rubi a try.

Lila Y.Honestly, I felt the same way before I found a smaller team to help out. Rubi sounds understanding, probably way less judgment than you think!

Maybe it’s just me but I still prefer to do my own cleaning. That being said, this kind of approach would be a lifesaver during surgery recovery or new baby days.

I love that she credits her faith as part of her journey. It’s refreshing to hear from business owners who bring that perspective to their work.

Seems like My Clean is really filling a need for busy families. I appreciate the focus on honesty and consistency, too many companies send different people every time.

Love to see how far Rubi’s come, especially starting as a young parent herself. Makes you realize how much hustle goes into building a business like this one.

Honestly, I’m kind of skeptical about whether smaller cleaning crews can handle commercial jobs too. Anyone here actually used My Clean for an office?

Great question, My Clean does offer commercial office cleaning in addition to residential services, and their team works with local businesses for move-in, move-out, and regular office maintenance.

We used My Clean during our move-out and it left the place looking better than when we moved in. The landlord even commented! Highly recommend for real estate folks.

I’d never thought much about how personal it is to let someone clean your house until reading this. Makes sense why people would stick with Rubi’s team for years.

Rubi and her crew have been cleaning for me since 2018 and I’ve always appreciated the attention to the little things, like getting under appliances and changing sheets. It really feels like they care.

Not surprised at all that a homegrown company like this would think to let people just book what they need. Some of us really can’t swing a whole house clean every time. More realistic pricing is always good.

Does anyone know if My Clean uses eco-friendly products or if that’s something you can request? I’d love to try them but want to make sure it’s safe for pets and kids.

We had My Clean come out last fall before hosting relatives and wow, our house never looked better. The fact that Rubi and her team remember the details each visit is so appreciated. Centennial is lucky to have them!
