The first full week of November in Centennial runs at two speeds: a Wednesday evening of local government at the Civic Center, and a Saturday built for early holiday shopping, with coffee and pastries on the side. Every item below comes from the City of Centennial Events Directory, listed in date order. Plans can shift, so give the listing a quick look before you head out.

Wednesday, Nov. 4

Planning and Zoning Commission Special Meeting

The city's Planning and Zoning Commission meets in a special session. If you've ever wondered how land-use questions move through Centennial, sitting in on a meeting is one of the most direct ways to see the process up close.

When: Wednesday, Nov. 4, 6 p.m.

Where: Centennial Civic Center, 13133 E. Arapahoe Rd., Centennial 80112

Cost: Not listed; check the listing

Saturday, Nov. 7: A holiday day at Curate

Curate: A Local Mercantile on South University Boulevard has three listings on the city calendar for Saturday, so you can plan a whole morning, or a whole day, around one address.

Curate: A Local Mercantile 2026 Holiday Open House

Curate's holiday open house is billed as a day of shopping with local makers and complimentary treats. The listing counts more than 100 local vendors across both Curate locations, selling clothing, jewelry, home décor, Colorado-made foods, art, stationery and baby gifts. If you have a short list of people who are hard to shop for, this is a good place to start.

When: Saturday, Nov. 7; check the listing for hours

Where: Curate A Local Mercantile, 8242 S. University Blvd., Centennial 80122

Cost: Not listed; check the listing

Sip, Shop & Savor with the Dulce Co.

The Dulce Co. brings its mobile coffee cart and baked goods to Curate's annual Holiday Open House. Think of it as fuel for the browsing ahead.

When: Saturday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m.–noon

Where: Curate A Local Mercantile, 8242 S. University Blvd. #150, Centennial 80122

Cost: Not listed; check the listing

Chalk & Flour Bakery Holiday Pop Up

In the afternoon, Chalk & Flour Bakery takes a turn with its own holiday pop-up at Curate, a natural follow-up for anyone who stays past the coffee hour.

When: Saturday, Nov. 7, 12:30–2:30 p.m.

Where: Curate A Local Mercantile, 8242 S. University Blvd. #150, Centennial 80122

Cost: Not listed; check the listing

Making a Saturday of it

The timing on Saturday works in your favor. The coffee cart runs until noon and the bakery pop-up starts at 12:30, so a late-morning arrival lets you catch both, with a stretch of shopping in between. If you'd rather beat the crowds, come in time for the coffee cart's 10 a.m. start. And if your gift list leans local this year, an open house with more than 100 area vendors puts a lot of choices under one roof.

Wednesday's meeting is worth a look, too. Holiday shopping is the fun side of community life, and planning and zoning is the side that decides what our streets and shopping centers look like years from now. Both are part of what makes Centennial feel like home.

Whichever you pick, we hope you run into a neighbor or two along the way. If something on your calendar this week deserves a spot in a future issue, reply and let us know.

Our neighborhood could really use more places like Curate. Local shopping just feels better than Amazon.

Honestly I never thought about how planning and zoning works until now. May just take a peek at that meeting.

100 vendors all in one place sounds overwhelming but fun. I wonder if there will be samples from the food sellers?

Thanks for your question! The listing mentions complimentary treats during the Holiday Open House, so food samples are likely, definitely something to look forward to as you browse.

Just a heads up, parking got tight last year at Curate’s open house, so try to get there early or carpool if you can.

Great tip! Early arrival or carpooling is a smart move, especially with over 100 vendors expected at Curate this year.

Smart to have the open house and food options lined up together. More places should do it that way.

I’ve never gone to a planning and zoning meeting but maybe it’s time to see what’s up. Interested to hear what’s being discussed.

Love that Chalk & Flour is doing a pop-up. Their pumpkin bread is the best. This might make me actually start holiday shopping early for once.
